There isn't a quote by C.S. Lewis is doesn't, in some way, seem to speak to me.
This is one of my favorites:
We are so tempted to think our feelings are the truth, the only reality, all black-and-white. But feelings are not facts, as someone once said to me (I forget who).
Feelings come and go, and they change depending on circumstance, perspective, history, timing, hunger. :)
It's easy to think that each moment is the only moment and that each feeling will last forever or be set in stone, but feelings change, which can be frightening but also a welcome relief.
I particularly like the end of the this quote, the reminder that what matters is intention and how we behave.
How we behave. :)
There's a little weight to that, no?
Here's to a lovely weekend, full of good intentions and sterling behavior.
And maybe a cocktail and strong coffee, too.
