I'm sitting in a hotel room outside of Washington DC about to begin the final stretch of our drive home. In five hours, once we hit the road, we get to see our much-missed Sandy. It's been a wonderful trip, but we're all getting a little rancid and homesick.
Five more hours. :)
While we spend the day on the road, here are a few pics I've seen recently that made me smile:
I saw this on tumblr, where I see all my images. I immediately thought: are you kidding? First, are you kidding that this guy has such a fragile ego? And second, are you kidding that the reporter wore those shoes? :)
This picture reminds me...it's summer...time to get a proper hat! And this picture makes me feel like doing that might be chic and minimal and on-point rather than drudgery or humiliation. I should invest in a lovely, proper sunhat and wear it with aplomb.
Is anyone else intrigued by a Rose Lavender Honey Iced Latte? Um....hand raised over here. This woman's entire site is Pinable.
This reminds me of when we lived in PA and Maggie accrued a $130+ library fine. She insisted on using her own email address for library messages and somehow didn't check those messages (though she checked messages from friends). We got a letter one day, in the mail, stating the fine to-date. When I took Maggie in to pay the fine, which meant she had to earn the money for the fine, the librarian was so disgusted with me that she started knocking off charges any way she could think to do it. She kept looking at me and saying, "You can't make a child pay this!"
I said, "She can do chores and use her birthday money."
The librarian was truly disgusted with me, and I was shocked with the librarian. In the end, Maggie earned the money (something like $80), and the fine was paid. We all laugh about it now.
That's it for me today. We're about to hit the road.
The best part of traveling is always going home. :)
