I can't believe it's Friday. I seriously feel like it's Tuesday....maybe.
Where did these seven days go?
Mine were spent with kids home for a teacher workday, at Jazzercise, writing and reading. Somehow only one bathroom made the cut for chores, but the laundry is looking pretty good. :)
I hope everyone has a fab weekend planned with at least a treat or two (wine, TV, date night, kids' soccer game...whatever) on the horizon. Here are a few gems from my week:
Someone got a little bit excited at the library the other day. So far I've read one. I'm hoping I'll be able to renew before they're due back. These are all new authors for me, so I'm excited. Has anyone read any of these?
I'm seeing signs of spring everywhere, and let me tell you: it's a welcome relief from all the rain we've been getting. And yes...I realize the dreaded rain is what makes this picture possible. :)
This red wine was a solid buy. I think it was around $12. I'm getting into these red blends. It's a nice combo wine for a weeknight dinner. I'll definitely buy this one again.
I bought these boots 17 years ago, at a TJ Maxx in Texas for $50. It was a totally random purchase, and they have been faithful to me since. I've worn them through DC winters, during 9 cross-country moves, on the Great Wall of China and in plenty a horse barn. One of them is even stained with Thrush Buster. Nearly every time I wear them, I get a compliment or someone asking me where I got them. I'm calling this the best shoe purchase I've ever made.
Our boy has been sick off and on for a month or so. He was sick on his birthday and the following week. This has been his first week back at school. Fingers crossed we're past the thick of this flu/cold season. I love the broken ibuprofen pills in this pic. It reminds me that these kiddos are still small.
Here are some bits from around the web:
This article about a love triangle among NYC hawks had me laughing. I clicked on it at first thinking it was related to Ethan Hawke, but no...it's really about the birds.
Here's an NPR article on 7 Women Who Get Things Done. The 101-year-old woman is putting me to shame.
I totally want to visit this library in China. It doesn't seem super cozy, though. But books are books.
French women are saying it's about time when it comes to this age disparity.
I related to this article on motherhood and the mental load.
