As part of my minimalism challenge (still ongoing), I organized my books and sorted them into read/unread piles. The unread books are stored on my bookshelf, and I'm tackling those throughout the year.
A few of my own choices include:
The book I couldn't put down: The Power
The book I lent you: Tenth of December
The book I fall asleep to every night: Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?
The book I'm desperately trying to write: Wood Rooster
The book I tried so hard to like: Everything I Never Told You
The book I somehow own 3 copies of: The Old Man and the Sea
The book you gave me (sorry...haven't read it yet): You Must Change Your Life: The Story of Rainer Maria Rilke and Auguste Rodin
The book that saved my life: Learned Optimism: How to Change Your Mind and Your Life
Otherwise, I don't take books to the beach (obviously), nor have I ever mistook a book for a hat. :)
Anyone else? What is the book you couldn't put down, are desperately trying to write or tried so hard to like?
