This week was a doozy. It rained and/or was cloudy every single day starting Sunday afternoon. Readers - have I told you how I feel about that weather? :)
Aside from all of that dreariness, my son was in a school living wax museum as Robert E. Lee; I spent a lot of time flopped down reading excellent books I'll report on soon, and my daughter is progressing on her pointe work. Even the weather can't take the sunshine out of that goodness. I hope everyone had a beautiful week and is looking forward to something special this weekend, even if it's just an extra cup of coffee, lingering in bed an extra twenty minutes each morning or taking a journey to some far-off (sunny) destination.
Here are a few pics from my week:
I took myself out for a lunch at the local organic, natural food store. I had the wild salmon cake and salad, and it was really lovely. I'm trying to get in more Omega-3s these days, and I'll take this over a horse-pill anytime.
For two years I've lugged around a cardboard box of errant pencils, pens, highlighters, erasers and crayons. I finally decided to do something about it last Sunday.
This is so much better. An organized set of just about anything is soothing.
My boy got a bike for his 11th birthday, and he's all over the neighborhood in style. He didn't go visit his friend yesterday because, due to the rain, he didn't want to ruin his new wheels. :)
I'm not sure what this 'wine' is. I thought the bottle looked pretty sleek. I thought: it's Italian. It will be great. Readers: let me save you $12 and the shock of your lives....this is not wine. This is sparkling alcoholic grape juice. If you know someone who maybe misses the days of Bartles & James wine coolers, buy this as a hostess gift. Otherwise, don't go down this road. I can't erase the first taste of this from my palate.
Finally, here are a few bits from around the web to peruse before Saturday is upon us.
IKEA hacks for 2018. I'm always so tempted. The two stackable beds have my mind buzzing.
How to make bone broth in a slow cooker. Seriously, as I try to get my stomach back in shape, I keep hearing about bone broth.
Since I'm always in search of sunshine, I love this article on sun-soaked travel for this time of year. Belize is calling.
I really 'need' this tote. And as if the Universe is speaking to me, I'm reading Alain de Botton's book right now. Coincidence?
I got a small set of Darphine products for Christmas and just began using them. I really love them. Why do the French do skincare so well?
That's it for me. I killed it at Jazzercise this morning and have chores, writing and reading ahead.
