This week flew by. I mean…I blinked and it’s Friday!
I’ve been hustling. I’ve been writing some freelance work, looking at a job opportunity, getting kids to-and-fro actives and school and trying to somehow keep up with housework, school work and serving up decent meals each night.
How is it that life sometimes goes from nothing to everything in the matter of a month?
Over the summer, I was bemoaning the boredom I felt, the lack of inspiration, the blah I felt about ghostwriting. Today? I’ve got more to think about and do, more excitement on the horizon, than I’ve had in years.
My brain is on fire. :)
Here are a few pics from my week that included a great wine, a walk in the woods and an on-point lunch with Maggie. I hope everyone else is enjoying a lovely week, perhaps not quit so harried but definitely inspired.
I’m listening to this on Audible on the way home from taking M. to school each day. The chapter on motherhood is on-point. The book is witty and charming, but that motherhood chapter really resonates - at least for me.
Found a new coffee place with great cafe au lait. That’s not easy. I met a new friend for a few hours of talking about writing, editing, storytelling and the meaning of life. Does it get better than that? No. It does not.
Okay, this is a great wine. There is something unique about it, which I can’t put my finger on, but both my husband and I love it. It’s $30. Splurge. And if $30 on wine isn’t a splurge for you, send me a case.
M. had an orthodontist appointment, and then it was lunch time, and who can return to middle school without lunch? Nobody. We ate at a lovely restaurant in town, and I decided to get my veggies in for the day. Isn’t that the way to do it?
We took Sandy on a walk through the woods. The boys walked ahead, and I kind of love the image of them walking along and talking. That’s such a mom thing to write. :)
That’s it for us. Here are a 5 things I’ve come across online this week:
This article on marriage made me laugh out loud. Tampon pics on a husband’s phone? Check.
Garrison Keillor’s thoughts on Thanksgiving from 2017. Can y’all believe it’s already 2018…almost 2019?!? I know. Me neither.
I’m tempted to try this Apple Rose Tart this year. Do I have this kind of kitchen hustle? Guess we’ll see.
Another article on kids not wanting their parents’ belongings passed down. Thoughts?
Ayurvedic Food Combining for Better Digestion. I’m all about better digestion. :)
That’s all I’ve got. I’m off for a meeting and to enjoy some beautiful blue skies.
