For anyone who pursues a 'creative' art, this interview is a must-see.
I'd argue that we all, in some capacity, pursue a form of creative expression. It may be painting or songwriting or prose or sculpture (I don't actually know anyone who legit sculpts). Or it may be cooking, skateboarding, coffee roasting or any other endeavor that involves our own personal, signature mark. Whatever it is, however we each express what's clawing at us from inside our bones to get out, there is a process in how we go about it. This interview speaks to that...and much more.
I'm new to George Saunders (Tenth of December is my first read of his work) and to Isbell, who speaks so honestly in this interview I can't wait to hear/read more of his songs. I'll leave you with this one....which I liked immediately upon listening.
